Amazon has sent out invitations to its April 2nd media event that the retailer will likely use to announce a new media streaming device, there aren’t much details on the device. According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Amazon plans to launch a free video streaming service for those who subscribe to the company’s Prime service. The new free video streaming service will be add-supported and will include original programming from Amazon as well as licensed content.

The company may also be introducing a music video service that will incorporate into the music section of its retail website, this will let costumers watch a music video that will be attached to an artist’s song.

Amazon is doing this to diverse its business and move from retail sales on to new things such as content provider.
