In a document that has surfaced in the Apple-Samsung trial, Apple has determined that consumers want a phone with a larger display and cheaper price.


The iPhone Y/Y unit growth has slowed from 109% to just 8% in FY’13 Q3 according to the chart bellow.


The photo bellow says ‘So what is going on?’ Factors are separated into Consumers, Carriers, and competitors.


“Consumers want what we don’t have”, by this Apple means that overall smartphone growth is due to cheap phones and phones with a display larger than 4″, products which Apple did  not offer at the time.
