Apple is now allowing Watch app submissions from developers in the iOS App Store. This means that any of the iOS apps available in the App Store can submit updates with support for the Watch, utilizing the WatchKit framework.
We have already seen updates for several existing apps over the weekend such as The New York Times, Flipboard and Uber all received updates to support Apple’s upcoming wearable.
Customers will be able to update apps with their iPhone and be ready for the Watch’s release on the 24th. The iPhone must be paired with the Watch for these third-party apps to work.
