According to a report from 9to5Mac, KGI Research analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a timeline that show Apple is planning a massive rollout for new products in Q3 2014.
Apple will update the iPad, Apple TV, and MacBook line, says Kuo. But the Mac mini and the much rumored Apple-branded television were not mentioned. In the meantime we will only see a minor update in the iMac line.
Two new products will launch in Q3 2014, The iWatch, which may be available in two sizes (1.3-inch and 1.5-inch), and the 4.7-inch iPhone that may include Apple’s A8 processor, 1GB of RAM, LTPS diplay panels, improved camera module with optical image stabilization, and Touch ID.
According to Kuo, a 12-inch Retina MacBook Air is in the works and will feature a thinner form factor than current models, with no internal fan, a buttonless trackpad and a high-resolution display, which may launch in late 2014. The current MacBook Air still uses a lower-resolution display as opposed to the MacBook Pro line which feature a retina display. Kuo also belives that Apple will launch a version of the iMac at a lower price and will launch sometime this year.
“We expect the unprecedented 12” model will boast both the portability of the 11” model, and productivity of the 13” model. The high resolution display will also offer the outstanding visual experience of the Retina MacBook Pro. The offering will likely be lighter and slimmer than the existing MacBook Air to further highlight ease of portability in the cloud computing era. We think the form factor will showcase a much improved clamshell structure, and that it will redefine laptop computing once again following the milestone created by the MacBook Air.”
