When Steve Jobs unveiled iPhone 4 at the WWDC 2010 Keynote address it didn’t come as a big surprise as it was similar to the lost next generation iPhone prototype that Gizmodo had revealed.

But Apple manufacturing its own case for iPhone 4 did come as a surprise.

Apple is calling its iPhone 4 case, a Bumper. The iPhone 4 Bumper goes around the edge of the iPhone 4 and doesn’t cover the back of the iPhone like regular iPhone cases. It comes with metal two-tone colors buttons for volume and power.

PosiMotion certainly announced this one well enough in advance (all the way back in December), but it looks like its Helix gaming grip for the iPhone and iPod touch is now finally available, and at Best Buy no less. In case your memory needs to be jogged a bit, this $20 contraption promises to be ideal for “virtually any game,” and let you use your iPhone or iPod touch in either portrait or landscape mode — it’ll also keep your headphones from getting tangled up for good measure. Still not convinced? Then perhaps the video after the break will change your mind — chains not included.

If you thought that Apple’s foray into the world of home entertainment died with the last iteration of the Apple TV, you’re quite wrong. A tip we’ve received — which has been confirmed by a source very close to Apple — details the outlook for the next version of the Apple TV, and it’s a doozy. According to our sources, this project has been in the works long before Google announced its TV solution, and it ties much more closely into Apple’s mobile offerings. The new architecture of the device will be based directly on the iPhone 4, meaning it will get the same internals, down to that A4 CPU and a limited amount of flash storage — 16GB to be exact — though it will be capable of full 1080p HD (!). The device is said to be quite small with a scarce amount of ports (only the power socket and video out), and has been described to some as “an iPhone without a screen.” Are you ready for the real shocker? According to our sources, the price-point for the device will be $99. One more time — a hundred bucks.

A few days ago, Wi-Fi Sync for our iDevices was made available and life has been pretty sweet ever since.  As you might know, the wireless syncing capabilities comes as a combo: iDevice app and Mac client ( Windows coming soon ) . The problem is that, the Mac client will cause iTunes to go about 80% ( during a restore ) and then just hang.

There is an easy fix for this. Remove the Mac client, restore your iDevice and then re-install the client. Or you can do everything via Xcode, and you won’t have to remove the client…

As our extensive KIRF library shows, China’s one wild country that can make almost anything you don’t want, so don’t mind us while we inspect this new finding with extra caution. This particular Chinese online seller not only claims to have parts for the next-gen iPhone, but also one white face plate — something not seen on iPhones thus far. While we drool over the thought of an all white Apple handheld, there are still questions to be answered here: the seller wasn’t able to explain what that silver bit above the speaker is, nor have we seen white back plates to match this. Furthermore, we were given a “maybe” for a bulk order of 15 to 20 units, which is quite a lot for something that’s not even out yet, but we were told over the phone that there’s always a back door to Foxconn as long as you wave cash at someone. Not that you should engage in such risky business, plus this piece’s authenticity will be revealed in about three weeks’ time, anyway. One more shot after the break.

Visa has partnered with a company called DeviceFidelity to launch a new iPhone accessory that will enable users to make payments from their iPhone in much the same way as they do with their credit cards.

The new system, named In2Pay, will work at the several thousand retailers across US who allow the RFID-supported no-swipe payment system.

In a recently published media statement, Visa notes that the technology will work with the help of a microSD card that is equipped with a near-field communications chip. This microSD card needs to be connected to the iPhone using an In2Pay case that may be plugged to the iPhone’s dock connector. The chip will then be able to interact with Visa’s payment app on the user’s iPhone.

Use Your iPad As a Remote With Comcast

Here’s an interesting demo video from Comcast that features an iPad as a remote control with a few extras. In the demo, Comcast’s Brian Roberts shows how to use the app to search for programming (both TV and On Demand), change channels and even program the Comcast DVR. Pretty neat.

Once paired with your cable box, simply browse the TV schedule or the On Demand options. To jump to a show, simply tap its name and presto! The cable box changes channels. Likewise, you can tap an On Demand feature to start it playing. The keyboard will make searching a lot easier (think Apple’s Remote app with the Apple TV).
