Facebook has now officially launched Slingshot on the App Store after accidentally launching it last week and then quickly removing it.slingshot

The app is a “Snapchat” competitor and isn’t exactly revolutionary in functionality. Just like Snapchat, Slingshot allows you to take photos and videos and send them to friends, but one feature that makes this app differ from Snapchat is that it will only allow you to open a ‘Sling’ if you have sent one yourself first.

App Store description:

Slingshot lets you quickly share moments—little and big—with lots of people at once. Shoot a photo or video of what you’re up to and sling it to a bunch of friends. They won’t be able to see your shot until they sling something back. Tap on a shot to react, or simply swipe it away.

You can now get Slingshot from the App Store and it is compatible wiht iOS 7 or later.
