Nintendo has filed a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to take down a a Game Boy emulator called ‘GBA4iOS’.
The popular Game Boy emulator allowed users to play Game Boy Advanced, Game Boy Color, and original Game Boy ROM’s on their iPhones and iPads without the need to jailbreak their device.
Riley Testut, the developer of GBA4iOS, has tweeted that GBA4iOS will work normally if you already had it installed on your device, but new downloads have been suspended.
“Well it’s official, @NintendoAmerica has sent a DMCA Notice requesting gba4iosapp.com to be shut down.”
“GBA4iOS will continue to function normally on your device, but new downloads will temporarily be suspended.”
The Nintendo DS emulator for iOS ‘NDS4iOS’ is still available, but seeing that Nintendo has taken down GBA4iOS it is likely that they will do the same with the Nintendo DS emulator soon.
