Vine has updated to version 2.0 and has included many new features and now lets you send private videos to friends. This new feature is called “Vine message” or VMs and lets you send a vine message to several people to start separate conversations, which means there is no group messages yet.
According to a report from TechCrunch, Apple purchased Novauris, A speech recognition company founded by Jim Baker, and has put it to work on Siri. Novauris Technologies, founded in 2002, came out of Dragon Systems R&D U.K. Ltd., a company that is well known as one of the biggest pioneers in voice recognition technology. Some of the company’s members include Yoon Kim, Melvyn Hunt, and John Bridle, which have background at Dragon, Nortel, and notably SRI, a company which helped get Apple’s Siri off the ground. Bridle and Hunt bought the company back in 2004 with help from private investors.
Apple has ranked very well on Greenpeace’s “Clicking Clean: How Companies are Creating the Green Internet” report. The company scored an “A” on ‘energy transparency’, ‘renewable energy commitment & siting policy’, and ‘renewable energy deployment & advocacy’, but scored a “B” in ‘energy efficiency & mitigation’, which isn’t bad.
Apple released a new update for Safari on Tuesday which is version 7.0.3 and includes bug and security fixes. The beta version has been tested in the past few weeks by developers.
After several rumors in the past, Amazon has announced its Fire TV home set top box for today.
The fire TV is priced at $99 and will support Netflix, Hulu+, ESPN, Disney. As expected, the device will also have gaming support and a bluetooth controller is available for and extra $40.
According to a report Nikkei, Apple is in talks with Japan’s Renesas Electronics to purchase a unit of the company, Renesas SP Drivers, a unit that designs chips for smartphone displays. The chips determine a display’s quality, performance, and overall energy efficiency.
iPhone Turka has posted some photos from inside and outside the first Apple store in Istanbul, Turkey. The store will open its doors at 10 AM on April 5th in the Zorlu Center.
The images show the new store looks very similar in design to Apple’s 5th Avenue outlet in New York City, but the interior is not much different from any other Apple Store. Take a look at the photos bellow!

With Apple and Samsung to begin another patent dispute due to Samsung infringing on several patents from iPhone 3GS, we can all appreciate a little humor.
