In the past, some users’ accounts have proven fairly easy pickings for those looking to grab a few apps from a linked credit card. Often, the victims hadn’t selected a strong combination of characters as a password, and as a result, found themselves considerably out of pocket as the fraudsters grabbed the most expensive apps they could find. DollyCam App Stabilizes Your iPhone Video Recordings experience

DollyCam is an app for the iPhone and iPad that records videos then stabilizes them to remove camera shake.
DollyCam also corrects wobble caused by the camera’s rolling shutter. The resulting videos are much smoother than the original recordings and are more pleasant to watch.

When stabilizing a video black borders might appear. DollyCam solves this problem using two different techniques:
– Zooming: DollyCam chooses a suitable zoom level depending on how your device was moved during recording
– Extrapolation: DollyCam extrapolates each frame of the video to fill the black borders

Apple Mac OS X Lion Now Available in the App Store

Apple, News  Comments Off on Apple Mac OS X Lion Now Available in the App Store
Jul 202011

For ‘developers’ willing to shell out $99 for an annual membership in Apple’s group of Mac OS app creators, Lion is old news already. But the rest of you can finally download Apple’s latest operating system — Mac OS 10.7 — by hitting up the App Store on your Snow Leopard (10.6.8)-equipped Mac, assuming it’s powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, i5 or i7 processor. From our experience with the pre-release version, the 4GB download could take over an hour, even on a high-speed connection, but once you have the installer in hand the upgrade process itself should be complete in about 20 minutes. As Apple previously announced, those with slower connections can also download Lion at an Apple retail store, and the company’s also now revealed that it will be offering it on a USB thumb drive as well, which will be available through its online store later this August for $69 (yes, that’s a $40 premium). We’ll be posting a full review of Lion later this week. Continue reading »

According to a Google developer, a Google+ client for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad has been submitted to the iOS App Store and if no issues are found, the App should be approved rather quickly. Google+ is Google’s new endeavor in social networking, which has captured the headlines in recent days.

According to developer Erica Joy on Google+ itself, the iOS app was submitted prior to today, which suggests that approval should be on its way:

For my iPhone using friends: the Google+ iPhone app has been submitted to the App store (no not today, sometime prior to today) and is awaiting approval. Continue reading »

TomTom iPhone App update, now with HD traffic updates

Hate gridlock? We’d surmise you aren’t alone, so pardon our excitement surrounding the latest addition to TomTom’s longstanding iPhone app. New in version 1.8 is the addition of HD Traffic, which extends congestion data to both “major” and “secondary” US roads. Existing TomTom Traffic subscribers get the functionality gratis, with the rest of us dishing out $20 via an in-app purchase. Free for all who upgrade are multi-stop routes, allowing one to tweak excursions to your heart’s content — provided you can count those diversions on one hand. The updated app is already live in the App Store, but please, pull over before downloading — cool?
