Tim Cook, takes the top spot with a 97% approval rating. While many speculated how Cook would be received by employees and how he would lead the tech giant, he seems to have settled in quite nicely. By comparison, when Steve Jobs stepped down in August 2011, his cumulative rating was 97% approval, though his rating between March 2010 and March 2011 was 95%. With less than 24 hours under his belt as the new CEO of Apple, Tim Cook has sent a letter to the company’s staff this morning, thanking his predecessor, and predicting bright things for Apple’s future. The note reads, in part,

I am confident our best years lie ahead of us and that together we will continue to make Apple the magical place that it is.

That’s all we know for now, folks. Apple’s CEO is taking a medical leave from work, his second in as many years, with Tim Cook filling his role during that time. In an email to the Apple team, Steve Jobs says he’ll be on leave to “focus on [his] health,” though he will retain the position of CEO and will remain involved in the major strategic decisions — Tim Cook will be picking up the slack on day-to-day operations. No further details have been provided, save for Steve expressing his love for Apple and wish to return to his duties as soon as he can.
