Netflix the online media streaming service is now offering to stream “Jobs”, the biographic movie based on Steve Jobs, founder and visionary behind the Cupertino tech giant Apple Inc., and starring Ashton Kutcher, who portrayed the character of Steve Jobs for the silver screen. The film will be available for free for Netflix customers who are using the company’s unlimited streaming plan.
Film’s producer Mark Hulme of Five Star Institute spoke to Neowin about the film.
Joshua Michael Stern is known for directing the comedy Swing Vote. Why was he picked to direct Jobs?
We wanted a director who could not only buy into and execute our vision for the film but could also work within our framework as an independent film company. After several meetings with Josh we were confident we had found both a brilliant and collaborative director. As an experienced writer and director Josh has a masterful understanding of the process of film making.
Kutcher is pouring himself into the role of Steve Jobs before filming of the movie entitled, ‘Jobs’, begins next month. He’s letting his hair grow out. I understand he’s canceled all meetings and actually canceled all other projects,” said producer Mark Hulme, whose newly formed Five Star Feature Films is the sole investor behind ‘Jobs’. “He believes the role was meant for him.”
