Some users have been reporting issues with the spacebar on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The Go bar was extended to the left making the space bar smaller. Some users were pressing the period button instead of the space bar while using Safari.
Apple is now letting anyone have access to beta builds of OS X with a new OS X Beta Seed Program, which means any one can now test out pre-release builds of the Mac software not just developers. The Developer Program cost is pretty steep at $99 per year, but now you can join the OS X Beta Seed Program for free by simply signing up with your Apple ID. If you would like to test beta releases of iTunes, iOS and other Apple related software, I would suggest you stick to the Developer Program.
A week ago Apple released the fourth beta version of OS X Mavericks and last night the company seeded the fifth beta version OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 (build number:13D33) to developers.
Apple has pushed out a newer pre-release version of 10.9.3 beta and iTunes 11.1.6 beta to employees. The new pre-release of OS X 10.9.3 (build 13D19) is available to employees and doesn’t introduce any major changes since the latest beta build seeded to developers. The last beta release asked developers to focus on testing graphics and audio drivers.
Wired video mirroring was first unleashed on the iPad 2 with iOS 4.3.x, but starting from iOS 5 beta, Mirroring went cables free via AirPlay but had certain limitations and didn’t work in some apps such as FaceTime.
Now starting from iOS 5 beta 3, you can mirror your FaceTime video calls via AirPlay on your Apple TV 2G hooked up to your gigantic TV! Yes you read that right, whenever you’re in a FaceTime call and feel a bit closed in on your iPhone’s small 3.5 inch screen, you can take a huge leap onto your TV via AirPlay Mirroring, isn’t that awesome?!
Apple has also enabled the new AssistiveTouch features in iOS 5 beta 3, in addition to performance improvements, additional location controls, voice roaming toggle, other changes and improvements that we covered earlier.
AssistiveTouch allows you to use your iOS device if you have difficulty touching the screen or if you require an adaptive accessory.
Once you have enabled the AssitiveTouch feature via the Settings app (Settings -> Accessibility -> AssitiveTouch), you can access various functions such as multi-touch gestures, volume buttons etc. via a control panel that can be activated by tapping an overlay button. You can also create custom gestures.
We had reported couple of days back, iPhone Dev team is planning to release Redsn0w for Windows and Mac and PwnageTool for Mac to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1.
It looks like iPhone Dev team is planning to release the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 today.
MuscleNerd, member of the iPhone Dev team revealed this on Twitter:
@adiazrulnizam redsn0w+PwnageTool using @i0n1c’s 4.3.1 untether (except iPad2) are on track for Funday release (USA time)
@HaouasLeDocteur “Sunday is a Funday” meme is something we started 2 years ago http://is.gd/OtzzSn — Sundays are good release days
It was a only a few days back that iPhone Dev Team had confirmed that the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak developed by iPhone hacking expert Stefan Esser is ‘solid’ and are hammering out some final issues.
Here is what they’re hearing:
● iOS 5 will launch in the fall and will be a major revamp of the OS.
● It could well be previewed at WWDC, it just won’t be released then.
● The iOS 5 launch is also likely to coincide with the release of a new type of iPad, which we previously reported on.
● The new iOS will be heavily built around the cloud, and we could see several new services launch from Apple that take advantage of this.
● Yes, one of those is very likely a “music locker” service. There is also a fall launch aim for this, during Apple’s annual music-themed event.
We’d been disappointed to find that iOS 4.2 only brought AirPlay video support to built-in Apple apps on the iPhone and iPad, but it looks like that’s changing soon — Apple just posted up the first iOS 4.3 beta, which allows devs to send video from apps or websites to an Apple TV. There’s also a new beta of the Apple TV software for testing it out — it doesn’t have any version notes, so we don’t know if it offers any additional features as well.
