Apple is now letting anyone have access to beta builds of OS X with a new OS X Beta Seed Program, which means any one can now test out pre-release builds of the Mac software not just developers. The Developer Program cost is pretty steep at $99 per year, but now you can join the OS X Beta Seed Program for free by simply signing up with your Apple ID. If you would like to test beta releases of iTunes, iOS and other Apple related software, I would suggest you stick to the Developer Program. Continue reading »

Apps, facetime, iOS, iphone  Comments Off on iOS 5 Beta 3 Supports AirPlay Mirroring For FaceTime
Jul 132011

Wired video mirroring was first unleashed on the iPad 2 with iOS 4.3.x, but starting from iOS 5 beta, Mirroring went cables free via AirPlay but had certain limitations and didn’t work in some apps such as FaceTime.

Now starting from iOS 5 beta 3, you can mirror your FaceTime video calls via AirPlay on your Apple TV 2G hooked up to your gigantic TV! Yes you read that right, whenever you’re in a FaceTime call and feel a bit closed in on your iPhone’s small 3.5 inch screen, you can take a huge leap onto your TV via AirPlay Mirroring, isn’t that awesome?! Apple Might Delayed iOS 5 Until Fall?

Apple, iPhone 5, News, rumors  Comments Off on Apple Might Delayed iOS 5 Until Fall?
Mar 262011

Apple has reportedly pushed back the launch of new cloud based iOS  5 until this fall, according to two ‘solid’ TechCrunch sources.

Here is what they’re hearing:
● iOS 5 will launch in the fall and will be a major revamp of the OS.
● It could well be previewed at WWDC, it just won’t be released then.
● The iOS 5 launch is also likely to coincide with the release of a new type of iPad, which we previously reported on.
● The new iOS will be heavily built around the cloud, and we could see several new services launch from Apple that take advantage of this.
● Yes, one of those is very likely a “music locker” service. There is also a fall launch aim for this, during Apple’s annual music-themed event. Continue reading »

Apple, News  Comments Off on iOS 4.3 beta released to devs, brings AirPlay video support to apps, personal hotspot and more [Video]
Jan 132011

We’d been disappointed to find that iOS 4.2 only brought AirPlay video support to built-in Apple apps on the iPhone and iPad, but it looks like that’s changing soon — Apple just posted up the first iOS 4.3 beta, which allows devs to send video from apps or websites to an Apple TV. There’s also a new beta of the Apple TV software for testing it out — it doesn’t have any version notes, so we don’t know if it offers any additional features as well. Continue reading »
