Apple has now made a statement to Re/code acknowledging that they are aware of the issue that is affections costumers that switch away from the iPhone, the statement also notes that Apple is going to have a bug fix in a future software update. The bug keeps messages from being delivered because the iPhone uses the iMessage protocol on the phone number that is no longer connected to an iPhone.
