Apple has announced the launch of their new 16GB iPod touch via press release. The new 16GB iPod touch is now available for $199 and comes in multiple colors that include pink, yellow, blue, silver and space gray. It features a 5-megapixel iSight rear camera and A5 chip, but the loop wrist strap is not included so you will have to buy that separately.
The fifth-generation iPod nano packed video recording, a widescreen display, and video playback. Apple decided to drop these key features in favor of a smaller-form factor, a Multi-Touch display, an iOS-like user interface, and a belt clip for the current, sixth generation model. Now, according to a purported seventh generation iPod nano part from Apple.pro, Apple may be putting the camera back into their popular music player while still keeping the current model’s size and display.
Electricpig.co.uk reports that Apple’s next generation iPod Touch could come with a 5-megapixel camera with flash and HD video recording capabilities that were recently introduced in iPhone 4 that was launched couple of weeks back.
Electricpig claims that UK retailer John Lewis revealed the new specs at its “Xmas in July” event in central London.
Well looky what we have here. Someone has put up two semi-working iPod touches WITH cameras and a development version of the iPod OS on Ebay. They are marked with ‘DVT-1’ and ‘DVT-2’, ‘Apple Development Team’ and one is running some sort of ‘switchboard’ OS window.
