According to a report from CNET, Many companies including Apple are trying to stop smartphone theft by entering into the Smartphone Anti-Theft Voluntary Commitment.

The CTIA trade group has proposed this anti-theft measure that will come preloaded or be available for download on new model smartphones. This tool will disable a stolen phone and will be made available by participating manufacturers and carriers. Continue reading »

NPR’s channel, which should be live today, will offer a free stream, 24 hours a day, which mixes live news with segments from pre-recorded shows like “All Things Considered” and “The Diane Rehm Show.” NPR officials say that within weeks, some of the broadcaster’s local stations should begin offering their own channels, with a similar mix of live and taped news. Apple has officially announced the relaunch of iPad 4 with Retina Display which is replacing the aging iPad 2. As expected, the device is now available once again on Apple’s website, with only a 16 GB capacity.

There aren’t any changes to the device. This model replaces the iPad 2, which has been around since the days of the 30-pin connector. The newer version includes Apple’s custom dual-core A6X processor, a 5 MP iSight camera, and 1.2 MP FaceTime camera. (Press release below:) Continue reading »

That particular group of people may have been given a little clue as to what direct Apple is taking with its next big cat.
