Verizon iPhone will go on general sale at 7AM on February 10th

Apple has just announced that tomorrow morning’s early Verizon iPhone pre-orders will be available through its online Store as well — starting at 3AM, available to current VZW subscribers only, and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. More pertinent news, however, can be found deeper in the company’s press release, which states that pre-orders will be opened up to the general public on February 9th, when you’ll be able to reserve or have one delivered on launch day, February 10th. Shops will open their doors early, 7AM — matching AT&T’s early opening for the iPhone 4’s original launch way back in June — and availability will be broad, encompassing Apple’s brick and mortar Stores, Verizon’s 2,000+ retail locations, select partners, and even a zany 1-800-2 JOIN IN phone number you can call. So, really, the only people left without a Verizon iPhone on February 11th should be those that don’t actually want one.

iPad goes on sale in Verizon Wireless and AT&T stores October 28

Apple, ipad, News  Comments Off on iPad goes on sale in Verizon Wireless and AT&T stores October 28

It might not be the Apple-Verizon tie-in you are most anxious to see happen, but the big red network has gone official with its plans to offer the iPad in its brick-and-mortar stores starting on October 28. VZW will be bundling the WiFi-only iPads with its own MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot with pricing set at $630, $730 and $830 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants of Apple’s tablet, respectively. There’s only one access plan on offer for now, granting users 1GB of monthly data allowance in exchange for $20 and no contractual commitments. AT&T will match the release date and upfront prices for each model, although its iPads will be of the WiFi + 3G variety, eschewing the need for a bundled MiFi; plan pricing will continue at 200MB for $15 or 2GB for $25 monthly.

VeriFone Payware Mobile iPhone now available in Apple retail outlets

It’s a little past January, but it’s not like you’ve had too much trouble burning through your credit limit these past few months anyway, right? VeriFone — that company responsible for the other iPhone credit card accessory — has just announced that its slip-up case is now available in Apple retail stores. For those unaware, this card reader works on all iPhone 3G and 3GS handsets, and there’s a built-in stylus for capturing signatures from those arguably shady street-corner transactions that you’ll be engaging in. Best of all, the device and app are totally free assuming you agree to a 2-year service contract and a $49 “activation fee,” but we’d caution you to read through the fine print under “merchant fees” before tossing away too much of that profit margin.

We knew iPad pre-orders were starting tomorrow, but know we know exactly when all you lovable crazies have to stumble out of bed and transmit your credit card numbers to Steve’s brain: 8:30AM ET, or 5:30AM on the West Coast. We generally recommend a bed shaker alarm clock, but hey, let’s not pretend we haven’t all turned a few long nights into tomorrow with our old friends Jackie D and Mistakes. See you on the other side, chochachos.
