Apple isn’t the one to slash prices, and the only time a discount is really seen from the Cupertino company is on Black Friday weekend. Thus, we rely on the likes of Best Buy and Wal-Mart to bring in those special offers.
No big surprises here, but the iPhone 4S’ older siblings are getting drastic price reductions. An 8GB 3GS is now free on contract, while the iPhone 4 is now only $99 with a carrier agreement — that one bill gets you an 8GB iPhone 4. We’ve received no indication of cuts for other flavors of the old guard, but we suppose congratulations are in order for bargain hunters with limited iTunes libraries.
Update: According to the Apple Store, the iPhone 4 is also “coming soon” to Sprint.
We knew it was coming end of May, now we have a date: May 28th and up for pre-order on May 10th. That’s when the iPad will hit Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. It lands in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore in July.
Update: Tax-inclusive pricing is out. Très cher! Oh, and Orange UK has fessed up to pricing details for the iPad 3G + WiFi.
