Angela Ahrendts has been working for Apple as the Senior Vice President of retail and online stores for three weeks now and already has three major areas she wants to focus on, mobile payments, China and a revamped shopping experience.
Apple has welcomed its new SVP of Retail and Online Stores Angela Ahrendts with 113,334 restricted stock units that are worth $68M beased on yesterdays closing share price, which crossed the $600 mark for the first time since 2012. The stocks will fully vest in 2018, so Ahrendts will have to wait till then to get the full payout.
Apple has added Angela Ahrendts photo and biography to its executive leadership website to reflect the beginning of her new role with the company as their new Senior Vice President of Retail And Online Stores.
Angela Ahrendts announced she was leaving Burberry last October and Apple also announced last year that she would be joining the company this spring. Tim Cook has now confirmed during the earnings conference call that Ahrendts will be joining Apple next week.
