A new version of TinyUmbrella, the tool that allows you to take backups of SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) has just been released to support iOS 4.3.2 and iOS 4.2.7. TinyUmbrella also protects GSM iPhone 4 from baseband updates.

Apple released iOS 4.3.2 and iOS 4.2.7 last week, which includes improvements and bug fixes.

The backed up SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) are required if you want to downgrade to previous iOS version as Apple usually stops signing them after a new iOS software update is released.

Semaphore – developer of TinyUmbrella announced the release of the new version on his blog:

TinyUmbrella is now updated to support 4.3.2 / 4.2.7 iOS versions. I’ve also added a simple feature to allow you to ‘Visit Blog’ when updates are available. Enjoy Continue reading »

While not very useful on such a small display, that could change when ported to the iPad’s bigger 10-inch display. In fact, that might be Apple’s plan according to our friend Erica Sadun who’s been busily spelunking the Apple TV’s disk image. She posits that the iPad could launch the lowtide UI when responding to AirPlay requests in a future iOS build. Continue reading »
